Standing in the very same room at the Royal Geographical society in London, where Sir Richard Burton described his role in the discovery of the source of the Nile, and Darwin illuminated the world with proofs for the theory of evolution by natural selection, Michael Fishbach, CEO & Co-Founder of Whale Guardians, in his usual tone of inquiry, encouraged the crowd of biologists and conservationists to work together.

A fragment of the presentation.

"How many of you consider yourselves biologists?" A large number of hands in the audience were raised.

Then he asked, "How many of you consider yourselves conservationists?" Again, hands were raised by a number in the room.

"Okay, how many of you call yourself both biologist and conservationists?" Less than a handful raised their hands.

"This is why you must work together, for biologists and other scientists hold the information that the world needs to protect the environment while conservationists hold the passion to forge meaningful action with that information... so when you all leave this room, go meet one another and forge the alliances that will bring the valuable contributions of science to inform conservation efforts."
